Job Summary
Laborer (Construction) role at Maine drilling & blasting. Responsibilities include adhering to safety procedures, performing laboring activities on outdoor construction sites, learning safety aspects around explosives, following directions from foremen and supervisors, aiding in loading/unloading explosives, pumping blast holes, carrying stemming stone, keeping the job site organized, attending safety meetings, and participating in daily heads-up safety discussions. Must be safety-minded, able to work outdoors in varying weather, and capable of lifting heavy weights (up to 100 lbs) with occasional overtime and potential out-of-town/state travel. Requires a valid driver’s license, ability to pass ATF screenings, and prior construction labor or heavy equipment experience preferred. Starting pay is $18-$20 per hour with travel stipends; benefits include ESOP and 401(k), health/dental/vision/life/disability, and training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License with good driving record and own transportation
- Must successfully pass ATF screenings
- Experience with construction labor and heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level task
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 5% of time
- Ability to lift 50lbs, 50% of the time
