Job Summary
Conduct site setup, material handling, and cleanup tasks including digging pits, trenches, and foundations. Operate hand and power tools, heavy machinery, and construction vehicles to transport supplies and secure the jobsite daily. Maintain public safety by directing traffic and ensuring all personnel wear proper PPE. Dig and back-fill trenches as needed while meeting project schedule expectations. Work across construction jobsites, warehouses, and travel routes, often standing, climbing, and lifting up to 100 lbs in variable weather. Adhere to CVG's safety program and OSHA standards while fostering positive team relationships in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to move, carry, or position items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often on uneven terrain or in active construction zones.
- Requires climbing ladders, scaffolding, and stairs to inspect work at various heights.
- Regular bending, kneeling, squatting, or crawling to perform tasks at ground level or in confined spaces.
- Regular use of hand and eyes. Must have good visual acuity for precision cutting, measuring, and assembling materials.
- Frequent use of hands and arms for operating hand tools, power tools, and performing repetitive motions such as hammering, drilling, and shoveling.
- Must be able to recognize potential hazards.
- Clear hearing is needed to communicate in noisy environments, follow safety protocols, and recognize potential hazards.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- May also encounter dust, fumes, and loud noise.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Required if on jobsite (hard hat, reflective vests, protective eyeglasses, closed-toed shoes, etc.).
- Must comply with the provisions of our Auto/Fleet Safety program with a current valid Driver's License, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Able to work nights and weekends, as needed.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment, weighing up to 100 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on construction sites preferred.
- Experience with industry hand tools and power tools preferred.
- Completion of OSHA 10/30 preferred.
- Completion of CPR and First Aid training preferred.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, strong organizational skills, and detail oriented.
- Ability to build and foster positive team relationships.
- Maintains a professional environment, demonstrates ethical behavior, and uses good judgement.
- Be adaptable, flexible, and resilient while managing multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn how to build.
