Job Summary
Direct customers to unload yard debris and assist heavy equipment operators with various site tasks. Ensure a neat and safe work environment by performing random load checks, directing traffic at the working face, and communicating regularly with the scale house. Perform general landscaping, weed eating, trash picking, and material sorting as assigned. Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, with assistance up to 50 lbs, while wearing required PPE including hearing protection, safety-toed boots, and hard hats. Work outdoors in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, noise, and strong odors.
Required Qualifications
- State issued, valid driver's license may be required
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 lbs. with assistance
- Auditory and visual acuity to monitor surroundings, equipment sounds, and safety signals (with or without corrective devices)
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, and kneeling required in outdoor and uneven terrain environments
- Tolerance to work in environments with strong odors, dust, humidity, and varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet)
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- One (1) year of previous relevant work experience, preferably in the compost or similar industry
- Basic awareness of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations, and best practices
