Job Summary
Shovel rock and sand, clean debris, and maintain the surrounding plant area. Operate a water cannon to wash dump trucks, blow cement and fly ash into the plant, and perform mixer chipping. Load and unload materials safely, set up traffic control or flagging, and operate hand and power tools. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards while working safely in varying weather conditions. Adhere to all safety guidelines and assist concrete, drainage, and retaining wall crews with general labor activities. This role requires physical stamina and experience in heavy highway or concrete construction.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in heavy highway, road, concrete, or bridge construction
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- General construction labor skills
- Willingness to assist multiple crews
- Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools
- Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes harsh weather conditions
