Job Summary
Assist crew leaders in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work for underground utilities in residential and commercial areas. Operate or signal specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, and backhoes while performing hand digging and locating obstructions. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards, lifting up to 80 lbs and working in tight spaces under adverse conditions. Complete duties as assigned while following oral and written instructions, passing background checks, and maintaining a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver's License
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
- English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with underground utilities
- CDL A
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
