Job Summary
The successful candidate will perform routine tests and procedures within the Transfusion Medicine/Hematology Laboratory, primarily on night shifts, across THP sites (CVH, MH, QHC). Requires a graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program and active registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario. Emphasis on quality assurance, good laboratory practice, analytical/problem-solving skills, initiative, organization, continuing education, and strong communication. Must be available for all shifts 24/7 if required and capable of working across multiple THP sites.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of a recognized program for Medical Laboratory Technologists
- Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (C.M.L.T.O)
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and good laboratory practice
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrates initiative and self direction
- Excellent organizational skills
- Participation in continuing education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Recent experience working in Hematology/Transfusion Medicine
- Candidate must be available for all shifts 24/7 if required operationally
