Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
Analyze facility effluent in accordance with EPA testing methods and Evoqua SOPs, perform sampling and testing of client waste deliveries, and enter results into databases. Operate laboratory instruments to maintain calibration, conduct wet chemical and ion exchange analysis, and make standardize reagents as needed. Provide notifications for discrepancies and ensure lab supplies are stocked. Work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and toxic waste streams while wearing required PPE. Requires an AA degree in chemistry or related field and one year of industrial analytical testing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an AA or equivalent in chemistry, environmental science or chemical engineering
- One year equivalent in industrial, inorganic analytical testing experience
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry specifically related to metals, cyanides and toxics
- Must be able to initiate and exit the plant within one minute
- Must be able to respond to and distinguish between audible alarms
- Must be able to work in hot conditions for extended periods
- Must be able to wear a hardhat, face shield, safety glasses, earplugs, respirator and other required PPE
- Able to traverse the building and grounds
