Job Summary
Perform specimen processing and quality control, conduct moderate-complexity tests, and report results. Maintain records of patient test results, follow established lab policies and OSHA/HIPAA standards, and monitor quality controls. Prepare specimens for storage or transport to reference labs; operate, calibrate, and conduct performance checks on clinical laboratory equipment; document corrective actions when performance deviates from specifications; confirm and review test findings with clinicians and ensure accurate documentation of QC activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year previous similar lab or clinical experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- HIPAA compliance
- OSHA rules and regulations
- AMT/MLS licenses preferred
- Ability to accurately perform tests and report results
- Attention to documentation and quality control activities
- Calibrations and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Follows departmental policies and procedures
- Excellent record-keeping and reporting skills
