Job Summary
As Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you will perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or biopsy samples using automated analyzers, microscopes and other lab tools to support veterinary treatment. You will set up and run lab tests, read and release results according to SOPs, and work in the Sample Management Department performing data entry and specimen handling (adding bar codes, unbagging, preparing samples). The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lb, work in a high-volume environment, handle clinical samples, and operate lab equipment. On-site in Glen Burnie, MD with early-morning shift schedule (Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00am–11:30am, with an every-other-Monday rotation). Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- 2-, 3-, or 4-year degree in a Science-related field preferred
- Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests; operating microscopes, pipetting and clinical diagnostic analyzers
- Comfort working around clinical samples (blood, urine, fecals, biopsies) and data entry skills
