Job Summary
Follow laboratory safety procedures while performing routine chemical and metallurgical analysis and reporting. Maintain laboratory process equipment and troubleshoot instrumentation, then review results to research discrepancies and report anomalous findings to the lab manager. Conduct routine and non-routine analysis of product, process, project, research, and environmental samples, while tracking chemical reagent inventory and completing workstation housekeeping. Prioritize analytical work with the magnet technology team and actively participate in safety management programs. This role supports USA Rare Earth's mission to develop a domestic rare earth magnet supply chain for the green energy and technology sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor degree in chemistry, science, or electronics related area
- 1-3 years of laboratory work experience
- Knowledge or experience related to experimental research and the scientific method
- Knowledge of laboratory instruments used for materials chemical characterization
- Aptitude for hands-on projects
- Aptitude for technical problem solving and critical thinking
- Computer skills for logging and organizing large data sets
