Job Summary
Laboratory Technician under the Histology Supervisor performs accessioning, processing, and preparation of pathology specimens. Primary duties include receiving and processing tissues, loading tissue blocks on the processor, performing H&E and Pap staining, selecting and arranging slides, preparing cytology slides, labeling and organizing slides/paperwork, maintaining supplies, and performing related laboratory and office tasks as assigned. Requires a High School Diploma with Associates or higher degree preferred; one year of relevant laboratory experience is desirable. Skills emphasized include multitasking, reliability, data analysis, computer proficiency, and strong communication and customer service abilities. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Associates or higher degree preferred
- Minimum of one-year relevant experience as a Laboratory Assistant with Clinical lab/histology experience desired
- Ability to multi-task, self-motivation, reliability, and accountability in meeting timelines
- Excellent computer software and data analysis skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service/relations skills
