Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician responsible for setup and performance of equipment and test setups for clients. Builds/adapts setup and test equipment based on data sheets and instructions. Reads blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions; follows defined test plans and datasheets; evaluates test performance and results; records and reports data. May direct staff in test setups, operates designated machines and lab equipment, performs routine maintenance and basic calibration, communicates with customers/clients during setup and test methods/results, and collaborates with engineers to suggest improvements to equipment, processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiency. Also may plan tests, evaluate results, and provide interpretations as directed, integrating basic continuous improvement concepts across responsibilities. Requires reading and understanding specific test standards with supervision and reporting data to engineers and management.
