Job Summary
Perform standardized laboratory and field tests on soils, concrete, and asphalt materials in accordance with FDOT, AASHTO, and ASTM standards. Accurately document test results, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, and enter data into laboratory information management software. Identify and report deviations, non-conformances, or quality concerns while adhering to safety protocols and environmental compliance requirements. Work full-time with flexible hours based on project needs in Riviera Beach, FL, with a valid driver's license required. This hands-on role supports FDOT-compliant construction projects and offers a clear pathway to grow into Senior Laboratory Technician and Asphalt Plant Inspector positions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0–3 years of experience in laboratory work
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods in outdoor environments
- Comfortable working in high-heat environments, including asphalt plant and field settings
