Job Summary
Part-time Laboratory Technician (weekends only, 16-20 hours/week) travels to local dairies to collect milk samples, transports to the lab, prepares and cultures samples for pathogen testing, logs results, and maintains a clean, organized lab; performs dairy procedures, including standard and specialized tests, and assists with reporting. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic laboratory skills, data management and strong attention to detail, ability to work independently with some guidance, valid state driver’s license, and ability to pass drug test and background check.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic laboratory skills and an understanding of essential tools and equipment
- Proven data management skills with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Analytical skills and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to accurately complete testing in a timely and efficient manner
- Self-motivated
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Capable of working independently with some guidance
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to work as a collaborative and effective team member
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass drug test and background study
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer
