Job Summary
Collect specimens from patients, perform in-house testing, prepare samples for outside labs, and record results accurately. Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and clinic performance plans. Monitor infection control, perform quality checks on waived tests, and manage inventory of testing supplies. Collaborate with the healthcare team on test availability and cost-effectiveness while ensuring patient confidentiality and providing bilingual support in English and Spanish.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Phlebotomy training certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish
Desired Qualifications
- Prior phlebotomy training
- Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, AMT, ASPT, or NHA
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or a Medical Assisting diploma
- Previous phlebotomy experience with patients of all ages
- Experience with an Electronic Health Record
- Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to OneWorld patients and staff
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
