Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist

Job Summary
Perform routine specimen collection, laboratory testing, and quality assurance in accordance with established laboratory guidelines. This role ensures accuracy and reliability by monitoring quality control, analyzing test results, and examining specimens to maintain high standards of performance. Rotate weekly with other technicians across clinical departments and perform phlebotomy as needed. Conduct equipment-based or manual laboratory testing, accurately report results in the Laboratory Information System, and adhere to CLIA standards. Maintain safety by disinfecting equipment, disposing of waste properly, and participating in routine maintenance. Assist with administrative duties such as documenting patient communications and managing supplies. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, BA or AAS in a related field, and ASCP certification or eligibility as a new graduate. Personal attributes include strict confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- MLT certification is required
- ASCP certification or eligibility as a new graduate
- high school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Basic computer proficiency
