Job Summary
Accession, sort, and route patient specimens while processing, preparing, and storing samples in the flow cytometry laboratory. Implement corrective actions when needed and maintain safety, compliance, and quality control standards in a biological hazard environment. Operate general laboratory equipment including centrifuges and audible alarms while wearing appropriate PPE. This role supports the front line of patient care at Sonic Healthcare USA, a leader in clinical laboratory solutions serving over 100 million patients annually.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI)
- 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
