Job Summary
Laboratory Technician I in Bay City, TX to support metallurgical aspects of thermo-mechanical production processes. Responsibilities include assisting with technical queries and internal feasibility analyses, defining process setups from metallurgical perspectives, supporting qualifications of thermo-mechanical processes and steel products, following Failure Analysis protocols, monitoring process performance and quality indicators, interpreting test results and microstructures, ensuring compliance with specifications (emphasis on steels and heat treatment), assisting in resolving testing/specimen issues, and upholding safety standards. Preferred experience includes metallurgical/materials testing, familiarity with steel heat treatment and structure–property relationships, and experience with metallographic sample preparation and SEM/EDS; preferred education is a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related Engineering field; strong attention to detail and analytical mindset; familiarity with ISO 9001, API 5CT, and related specifications.
