Job Summary
Conduct daily maintenance of human pluripotent stem cells and 3D cerebral organoids to study human cortical and neurodevelopmental disorders in vitro. Record experimental results, prepare matter for analysis, and assist with molecular/phenotypic characterizations, tissue histology, and general laboratory tasks as directed by the PI and senior scientists. This one-year term position requires 35 hours per week and offers direct training by postdocs in a collaborative environment focused on the burgeoning stem cell field.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with basic biological laboratory techniques
- BS/BA in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience or related field
- At least one year of directly related, full-time experience in a research lab
- Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, especially stem cell and neuronal cultures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and with external contacts in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location
Desired Qualifications
