Laboratory Technician, Gas Chromatography

Job Summary
Perform Gas Chromatography analytical testing following ASTM protocols, including equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. Clean glassware, prepare reagents, and record data on sheets and the LIMS system while maintaining quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards using published methods from ASTM, UOP, IP, and ISO EN. This role requires rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to work overtime and lift up to 49 pounds. Intertek provides independent inspection and testing services to the oil and gas, chemical, and commodities markets globally.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of direct Laboratory analysis experience
- A bachelor's degree in a field of science
- The ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in using LIMS applications and established chemistry lab processes
- The ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures
- Proficiency in utilizing non-complex and complex instrumentation
- The ability to work overtime as business needs dictate
- The ability to regularly lift/carry up to 44 pounds
- The ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 49 pounds
- The ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- The ability to tolerate exposure to various chemicals within OSHA standards

Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GC Experience is definitely a plus!
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, is preferred
- Prior experience with Agilent ChemStation operating software is also preferred
