Laboratory Technician Environmental - Microbiology

Entry-level Laboratory Technician needed for a seasonal 6-month opportunity at the London, ON laboratory. Responsibilities include sample reception/identification/preparation, sample dilutions, setting up analytical batches and analysis, batch quality control, input into LIMS, accurate logging and cataloging of samples, calibration and setup of lab equipment, maintaining equipment calibrations, preparation of standards and reagents, interpreting and evaluating results, monitoring lab supplies, adhering to health, safety and environmental policies, following quality system protocols, and occasional work in other areas of Environmental Services laboratories. Requires good data entry, reading and following work instructions, strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure during high workloads, and effective communication and teamwork. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is expected, with potential for travel to other SGS locations or client sites. Education: minimum high school diploma; post-secondary science-related education is a strong asset. In-person on-site role with potential extended hours.
