Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
Lab Technicians perform routine analytical tests under supervision to determine chemical or physical characteristics of samples; responsibilities include setting up and operating lab equipment, calibrating instruments, preparing chemical solutions, recording results in standardized forms and LIMS, following ASTM/UOP/IP standards, and complying with safety and quality requirements. The role requires reading and understanding analysis procedures and safety standards in English and using laboratory procedures and computer tools (MS Word/Excel/Access). Travel is not required; working environment is laboratory-based. Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science preferred (or equivalent experience) with 1–2 years of direct lab experience; knowledge of ASTM standards and experience with LIMS are preferred. The position is an Individual Contributor, non-exempt, full-time, reporting to the Lab Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related science preferred, or equivalent work experience
- minimum of one (2) year of direct transferable experience working in a laboratory
- Knowledgeable in ASTM standards
- Must be able to differentiate between colors accurately by sight
- Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) experience preferred
- Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment
Desired Qualifications
