Job Summary
Laboratory Technician performs analytical tests using ASTM and in-house test methods on raw materials, components, and finished products as part of plant operations and customer service support. Performs in-process tests as required by Technical and Operations Department; calibrates and maintains lab equipment; conducts tests on standard reference samples and maintains SMC/SQC charts; assists chemists in lab blend studies and analysis of non-routine samples; handles sample bottles in the sample retention room per corporate guidelines; supports laboratory housekeeping and organization; participates in 12-hour rotating shifts at Chevron Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical / Biochemical Sciences or equivalent studies
- Preferably with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organization skills
- Must be prepared to work 12-hour rotating shift
