Laboratory Technical Assistant- Owatonna

Laboratory Technical Assistant responsible for phlebotomy collection (venipuncture, capillary, and arterial puncture as applicable) and specimen handling, including throat culture, urine, and other requested specimens. Performs waived laboratory testing (immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, hematology) per established protocols, and documents patient specimen flow in the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Ensures accurate processing of specimens for dispatch to external labs as needed, maintains a safe work environment with standard precautions, and assists with new employee orientation and training. Day shift, 0.8 FTE, on-site in Owatonna, MN. Responsibilities also include applying patient safety and management methods to laboratory practice and performing other duties as requested.
