Job Summary
Conduct a full range of clinical laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, cytology, histotechnology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and blood bank sections. Prepare specimens for analysis, calibrate instruments, and perform quality control checks while maintaining proper records. Screen officer training school accessions, assist in report preparation, and record results in MHS Genesis. Perform phlebotomy, greet patients, and handle basic front desk administrative tasks. Ensure biological waste is disposed of correctly and report unusual test results to supervisors. Requires ASCP or AMT certification, 12 months of recent experience, and US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Shall read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
- Must be a graduate from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or an educational program acceptable to the American Medical Technologist (AMT).
- Medical Laboratory Technicians must have at least 12 months of experience within the past 36 months.
- Must have a minimum of Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or state licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Must be a US citizen
Desired Qualifications
- National phlebotomy certification from one of the following: NHA – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), ASCP – Phlebotomy Technician (PBT), AMT – Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT)
- Significant, proven experience performing phlebotomy at a high level of skill and accuracy.
