Laboratory Support Technician I - 5 am - 1:30 pm, No Prior Phlebotomy Experience Required

Job Summary
Conduct blood specimen collection on adult and pediatric patients, including venous, capillary, and blood culture samples. Order laboratory tests in the Laboratory Information System, process specimens for testing, and prepare samples for reference laboratories. Verify patient identity against Epic or paper requisitions before collection, label specimens in the patient's presence, and communicate procedures while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality. Review batch logs to ensure quality requirements are met, enter receiving steps into the LIS, and deliver STAT or urgent specimens promptly. Follow all hospital and laboratory policies, complete incident reports for variances, and assist with training new staff. Work the 5 am to 1:30 pm shift with occasional travel, earning between $18.02 and $27.03 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPT-A Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) from training in a formal phlebotomy program which includes a minimum of sixty (60) hours of didactic training and sixty (6) hours of clinical experience, or one hundred (100) observed phlebotomy draws
