Job Summary
Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist at Emplify Health by Gundersen Health System working part-time nights at our La Crosse, WI hospital campus. Responsibilities include performing venipuncture and capillary punctures, collecting specimens (blood, urine, swabs), labeling and preparing samples for testing, and ensuring proper storage and transport. Maintain sterile environments, monitor patient condition before/during/after blood collection, adhere to safety and quality control protocols, and coordinate specimen collection with healthcare teams across units (ICU, Trauma, Emergency Center, Pediatrics, NICU, OR, etc.). On-the-job training provided; starting pay $17.54/hour with shift/weekend differentials; 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week) with 8-hour night shifts and every third weekend rotation. Benefits package available.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Strong customer service skills with compassionate care
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Previous phlebotomy/medical experience preferred but not required
