Job Summary
Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable analytic performance, reporting system deviations to the Technical Consultant. Supervise all lab personnel to maintain quality standards, policies, and procedures while evaluating competency and conducting annual performance reviews. Assist physicians and nurses with patient treatment, triage, and vital signs, and handle requests respectfully and timely. Submit monthly staffing schedules, approve payroll, and provide orientation and in-service training to testing personnel. Maintain records for two years, implement safety regulations, and perform biological cleanup per OSHA guidelines. Available as needed for patient care and center operations, with willingness to work at any center due to staffing or emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum typing experience
- High School graduate (or equivalent)
- Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology
- Two years training/experience
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science
- One year training/experience
- Thorough knowledge of Medical Technology principles, concepts, and methodologies
- Knowledge of mathematical and statistical methods
- Knowledge and skill to use and maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Knowledge of related disciplines to integrate and correlate test results
- Ability to produce reliable quality laboratory results under stressful conditions
- CPR certification
- Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly four to seven hours at a time)
- Ability to lift moderate to heavy items (20-50 lbs.)
- Excellent visual, verbal, written, and typed communications
- Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at one time
- Responsible for understanding and performing work as a Technologist/Technician
- Willing to work at any center due to staffing, a center emergency, or a reduction of work
- Must be able to produce reliable quality laboratory results under stressful conditions
- Must be able to perform CPR and update certification as needed
- Must be able to hear pages, bells, and phone system
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly four to seven hours at a time)
- Must be able to lift moderate to heavy items (20-50 lbs.)
- Excellent visual, verbal, written, and typed communications
- Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at one time
- Responsible for understanding and performing work as a Technologist/Technician
- Must provide the highest quality medical care and professionalism
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of supervisory experience
- Medical candidates with at least 1-2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting
