Job Summary
Laboratory Supervisor in Birmingham, AL responsible for assisting Pathologists and the Laboratory Manager in planning objectives and scope of laboratory services, supervising daily activities and staffing to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of high-complexity testing; maintain accreditation standards, monitor quality assurance, train and evaluate staff, manage schedules and recruitment, and ensure compliance with safety and infection control policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology with at least one year of training and/or experience in high complexity testing
- Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical technology with at least two years of training and/or experience in high complexity testing
- Current ASCP certification (HT)
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Histotechnician
- Have previously qualified or could have qualified as a general supervisor prior to 2/28/1992
