Job Summary
Oversee nightly laboratory operations, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to support workflow and turnaround times. Coach, mentor, and develop laboratory staff while conducting evaluations and providing ongoing performance feedback. Monitor quality assurance activities, implement corrective actions, and maintain compliance with accreditation, regulatory, safety, and infection-control standards. Partner with Pathologists and leadership to improve processes, efficiency, and service quality. Perform Histotechnician duties as needed to support department operations. Lead a high-performing histology team dedicated to driving quality initiatives and supporting exceptional patient care in a fast-paced dermatopathology environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current ASCP Certification (HT)
- Minimum of five (5) years of Histotechnician experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science/medical technology with at least one year of high-complexity testing experience
- Associate degree in laboratory science or medical technology with at least two years of high-complexity testing experience
- Previously qualified or eligible to qualify as a General Supervisor prior to February 28, 1992
