Job Summary
Laboratory Technician role focused on performing and calculating basic soil strength and index tests per ASTM procedures, maintaining and organizing the lab, and summarizing results in reports for engineering staff. Responsibilities include following quality, health, safety, and environmental values; maintaining test facilities and equipment; assisting in determining sample suitability for testing; and contributing to soil characterization and reporting to support geoscience projects in Fugro’s Marine Geoconsulting service line. Requirements include work authorization in the U.S., a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a passport, and generally a high school diploma with preferred Associate’s degree; 1+ years of experience and knowledge of soil testing techniques and calibration procedures are valued.
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
- Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel
- High school diploma or an Associate’s degree is preferred
- Have 1 year or more of experience is preferred
- Knowledge of soil classification techniques
- Ability to utilize testing equipment and perform laboratory equipment checks and calibrations per company procedures
