Job Summary
Receive and sort clinical lab specimens, preparing them for testing and analysis. Scan and enter specimen and patient information into the system while ensuring all lab equipment functions properly and performing minor maintenance. Troubleshoot specimen-related issues, replenish test bench supplies, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Complete required record logs and follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards. Work independently in a fast-paced production environment, meeting established turn-around times and adhering to a Tuesday through Saturday schedule from 1:00 am to 9:30 am.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 1:00am - 9:30am (rotating weekends)
Desired Qualifications
- 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
- 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience
