Job Summary
Lab-based Level 6 Materials Degree Apprenticeship role in Watford. You will assist in laboratory testing of construction products and systems, learn to plan and carry out tests with supervision, calibrate and maintain equipment, prepare samples, and report results. You’ll work with the Team Manager and colleagues to clarify tests and program work to meet report dates, develop knowledge of calibration duties, and support the Test Technicians in setup and operation of test facilities. The programme combines practical testing with structured training delivered by Tiro and Middlesex University, culminating in End Point Assessment and potential professional recognition (RSci/CSci). The role emphasizes hands-on materials testing, data interpretation, and contributing to safer, more reliable products and processes within materials science and engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Be 16 or over
- Not be in full-time education
- Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- Have the right to work in the UK
- An A-Level in Physics/Engineering (Grade C or above) OR A Level 3 qualification such as a T-Level or BTEC Extended Diploma in a Science related subject
