Job Summary
Teach a combination of middle and high school music courses, including general music, music technology, and other departmental offerings. Develop and implement engaging, student-centered curriculum that fosters musical creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and artistic growth. Work collaboratively with music department colleagues in a co-teaching environment to meet the diverse needs of students. Monitor and report on student performance, coordinate with administrators and parents to support success, and actively pursue professional development in pedagogy and instructional technology. Demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of courses as departmental needs evolve and serve as a high school advisor. Perform in scheduled concerts, festivals, and exhibitions while working a 40-hour week under the Faculty Association contract. Start date is 9/1/2026.

- Full-time teachers are expected to work a 40-hour workweek and the required number of days as stipulated in the Faculty Association contract
- All teachers are expected to perform in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Ability to move in and around the classroom/building to interact with students, faculty, staff, parents, and other members of the community
- Ability to move class-related equipment/tools, as appropriate, around school property
- When appropriate, the ability to escort children from one classroom to another, in and out of the building during arrival and dismissal, and in an emergency situation
- Ability to demonstrate lessons, when appropriate
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in music education or music preferred
- Experience teaching middle and/or high school music students preferred
- Experience teaching general music preferred
- Band teaching experience preferred
- Experience with music technology and digital music production preferred
- Experience with one or more digital audio workstations (DAWs) preferred
