Job Summary
Collects, labels, logs, and processes blood and other specimens. Checks quality of samples, assembles supplies and equipment, and monitors lab incubator/refrigerator temperatures. Prepares specimens for referral to outside laboratories and for reference labs according to protocol. Orders tests in LIS, ensures correct tubes/containers are submitted and labeled, and follows CAP, UMPA, and GLP guidelines. Determines acceptability of specimens, spins/separates/stores specimens, and ensures study-specific guidelines are followed.
