Job Summary
Build and operate a functional genomics lab by maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and supporting vivarium animal husbandry. Identify operational bottlenecks, determine requirements, and implement long-term solutions to accelerate scientific research programs. Coordinate procurement and sourcing between scientists, Facilities, and Finance while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety and waste treatment guidelines. Support onboarding of new lab personnel with training on procedures and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the natural sciences and/or experience in a cell biology, molecular biology, genomics or similar laboratory setting
- 3+ years of lab ops experience
- Ability to proactively identify inefficiencies and implement long term solutions
- Strong data fluency and ability to think programmatically
- Strong communications and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a functional genomics laboratory
- Hands-on research experience in cell or molecular biology; familiarity with cell culture, cloning, and NGS library preparation reagents and tools
- Experience with procurement & purchasing systems
- Experience with environmental health & safety
- Experience using lab inventory and sample management systems
