Job Summary

Interns will conduct microbiological analysis of samples, prepare pure culture yeast, and perform chemical and physical analysis of raw materials and finished products. Responsibilities include using lab equipment, maintaining cleanliness of the work area, and following written procedures. Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while pursuing a degree in a relevant field.

Required Qualifications

  • Working toward a degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field required
  • Chemistry and/or Microbiology lab experience either through formal training or work experience
  • Ability to follow written procedures and be organized
  • Detail oriented and safety minded

Desired Qualifications

  • Some lab experience preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Employees working in this position will be required to follow Red Star Yeast’s facial hair policy due to the requirement to wear respiratory protection.
