Laboratory Education Specialist I

Job Summary
Develop and manage in-house training programs for corporate and department-specific learning needs, including new employee onboarding and regulatory content updates. Coordinate laboratory rotations for students, residents, and fellows while assessing employee educational needs and change readiness. Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments to troubleshoot Cornerstone LEaP software issues and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other accrediting bodies. Create educational materials, administer exams, and lead companywide projects to standardize training efforts. Work with internal teams from Human Resources, Quality, and IT to develop policies, conduct audits, and compile annual budget estimates. Teach courses at colleges and universities, manage the Pipette Training Room, and monitor trainer effectiveness to foster continuous staff learning.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a citizen of the United States or authorized to work in the United States
- Gains and maintains knowledge of current training, competency, and continuing education requirements of federal, state, local governments, and other accrediting and licensure bodies, which includes but is not limited to CLIA, CAP, ISO, New York, California, AAB, FDA and the ASCP
- Serves as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments
- Troubleshoots any problems associated with the Cornerstone LEaP software system, both for individual staff members and when there are global software updates
- Maintains professional relationships with stakeholders, team members, and external education directors and staff members of universities and colleges
- Communicate: Frequently communicate with others
- PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies
- ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures
