Job Summary
Provide ground transportation for Norton Sound hospital and clinic patients, laboratory specimens, supplies, and food packages in a safe, professional manner. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, report maintenance issues to the Maintenance Department and supervisor, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and work rules. Demonstrate strong customer service skills, effective communication, and time management while managing patient confidentiality. Requires knowledge of local streets, small plane package handling, and office technologies. Valid Alaska Driver's License, high school diploma, and minimum 18 months driving experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year(s) working in a service environment, hospital setting preferred, and 18 months driving experience
- Valid Alaska Driver's License
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have an acceptable driving record without any major violations or no more than two minor violations in the last three years
- Knowledge of local streets as well as familiarity of the local region
- Knowledge of small plane package handling
- Above average customer service skills
- Ability to manage their time and organize their work to ensure efficient performance
- Ability to follow policy, procedure and instructions
- Ability to understand and manage patient/customer confidentiality
- Ability to actively communicate with their supervisors to ensure understanding and manage their work accordingly
