Job Summary
Perform assigned routine laboratory tasks under close supervision, maintaining the physical organization and hygiene of study areas. Assist with cage/tank cleaning, equipment washing, workspace preparation, and daily animal/organism care activities including feeding, watering, and observation logging. Prepare and label materials, supplies, and consumables for active studies while following all health and safety protocols and GLP documentation practices. Report equipment malfunctions or unusual observations to supervising staff. This entry-level role supports the Chemistry team at Smithers Environmental Risk Sciences in Wareham, MA, with no degree or prior laboratory experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
- Attention to detail and reliable task follow-through
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Willingness to work with live organisms (fish, invertebrates, plants, soil fauna)
- Basic computer literacy (data entry)
- High school diploma or GED
