Job Summary
Coordinate daily operations and scheduling for the Lab Assistant team while acting as a supportive bridge to management. Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions. Train personnel on new protocols and resolve complex, escalated communications to maintain efficient laboratory workflows. Champion safety, compliance, and quality control standards. This role provides routine access to protected health information, requiring strict confidentiality adherence. Based in Aiea, HI, this full-time position supports Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, a member of Sonic Healthcare, the world's third-largest pathology company.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms
- Routine access to protected health information (PHI)
- Training on reasonable safeguards for PHI
- Strict confidentiality regarding PHI
- Adherence to all applicable privacy and security standards
- Ability to fulfill job duties related to PHI access
Desired Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
