Job Summary
Seeking a motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant Manager to support laboratory operations and staff development while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance within a clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include coordinating daily operations, supervising laboratory staff, assisting with staff scheduling and training, monitoring workflow, managing laboratory testing procedures, implementing process improvements, ensuring compliance with regulations like CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA, and maintaining documentation and operational records. Requires associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field, certification preference, and 3-5 years of hospital laboratory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related field
- 3-5 Years in a hospital laboratory
- Experience with the use and limitation of laboratory equipment and apparatus
- Familiar with standard laboratory methods and procedures for collection and processing of lab samples
- Good working knowledge of various fields of specialty in the laboratory
- Must be able to share evening and weekend call, with response time within 30 minutes
Desired Qualifications
- MLT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) Certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
