Job Summary
Laboratory Assistant - LHSC (Contract, 12 months) in Keremeos, BC. Processes blood samples and other specimens, enters requisitions and results accurately, provides quality patient care and customer service, and supports data entry and transportation to the laboratory. Requires CSMLS/BCSLS certification and/or MLA program accreditation (or related degree) with phlebotomy experience; on-site, part-time schedule (Mon/Tue/Thu, 7:30am-3:30pm). Duties include venipuncture, ECGs, specimen handling, SOP/compliance adherence, data entry, and maintaining confidentiality. Pay rate $27.00-$30.75 per hour; potential cross-site coverage within LHSC network; lifting up to 30 pounds; 25-40 wpm typing; training and regulatory compliance emphasized. Required Qualifications
- CSMLS or BCSLS certified and/or MLA program accreditation
- Bachelor degree in related scientific discipline or nursing or international MLA/MLT qualification may also be considered
- minimum 1 year patient-facing phlebotomy experience (may be considered)
- customer-focused with patient health in mind
- English proficiency
- typing 25-40 wpm
- ability to attend shifts across LHSCs
