Job Summary
As a Laboratory Assistant in Gravenhurst, you will obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, conduct tests, and support patient care and data entry. You will work as part of a team to maintain quality metrics, provide empathetic customer service to patients, perform phlebotomy with skill to manage anxious patients, and assist with a range of specimen handling duties (ECG, Holter hookups, urine, drug and breath alcohol collections) in accordance with SOPs and Ministry of Health requisitions. Strong attention to detail, ability to adhere to protocols, and clear English communication are essential in a medical laboratory environment. This role emphasizes data accuracy, confidentiality, and contributing to a positive team environment. The position is a full-time, on-site role at 1-5 Pineridge Gate, Gravenhurst, Ontario, with a pay rate of $20.00-$23.75 per hour, and requires completion of the specified educational pathways.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary School completion and a Laboratory Assistant training program or a Medical Lab Assistant course with specialized training in phlebotomy
