Job Summary
Perform phlebotomy on patients, process clinical specimens, and prepare them for laboratory analysis. Translate physician orders to requests, correct logbook entries, and document patient results while notifying physicians of critical findings. Maintain supply inventory, monitor expiration dates, and perform other related duties within legal limitations. Requires phlebotomy certification, appropriate state license, and minimum two years of phlebotomist or lab assistant experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- College preparation related to office or managerial organization
- Completed the required coursework for phlebotomy
- Passed a phlebotomy certification exam
- Appropriate license from the State
- Minimum of 2 year experience as a phlebotomist/lab assistant
