Laboratory Assistant

Process specimens, assist with laboratory testing, and manage supply inventory while evaluating and releasing test results under the direction of a Clinical Lab Scientist. Practice positive patient identification, perform allowed laboratory testing following written technical policies, and handle send-out testing including packing lists and packaging for external labs. May perform phlebotomy using appropriate collection techniques and conduct routine equipment maintenance and reagent logging. Maintain department workflow and collaborate effectively with the team. Requires BLS-CPR within 90 days of hire; preferred candidates have acute care experience and relevant certifications. Located at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, a Level I trauma center focused on patient-centered care.
