Job Summary
As a Laboratory Assistant, you will perform the specimen collection process, including greeting patients, conducting phlebotomies, and preparing specimens for transportation. This involves maintaining client relationships, completing data entry for patient demographics, and ensuring compliance with test protocols. The role requires skills in communication, customer service, and patient confidentiality, with a background in medical laboratory assisting or relevant healthcare experience.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent related experience such as working as a healthcare professional with previous training or experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion and/or intravenous therapy.
Desired Qualifications
- ECG training or experience is an asset.
- Proficient data entry skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively relate to patients and health care providers.
