Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, provide skilled care and handling of laboratory animals in standard housing and bio-hazardous areas, with duties including feeding and watering, changing cages, assisting investigators and veterinarians with routine and specialized procedures, administering medications, maintaining health records, providing pre- and post-surgical care, daily health checks, inventory management, ensuring AAALAC standards, ordering supplies, and mentoring less senior technicians, with potential limited supervisory duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Four years of relevant experience
- Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS)
