Laboratory Analyst, Spectroscopy ICP-MS

Job Summary
Independent laboratory analyst responsibilities include conducting routine and non-routine analyses of geological samples, operating and maintaining ICP-MS, ICP-AES, and/or AAS instruments, and ensuring data quality and QC compliance. Prepare dilutions, calibration standards, and instrument operating solutions; evaluate data with instrument software and generate written reports; manage calibration standards, production logs, and inventory; follow SOPs and safety guidelines; prioritize workloads to meet turnaround commitments; act as backup to shift lead; maintain a clean, safe lab environment and communicate safety concerns. Requires strong analytical, mechanical, and MS-Office skills (Word/Excel/Outlook), ability to work independently or in a team, and good English communication. Education in science and lab experience are required, with BC Assayers certification or degree in science preferred; candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
Required Qualifications
- Recognized Diploma or Degree in Science required, with a concentration in Chemistry preferred, or completion of the BC Assayers certification program required; Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, instrumentation or a related field required.
