Job Summary
Prepare and analyze environmental samples for asbestos using Polarizing Light Microscopy in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures. Enter analytical data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and upload reports to clients. Perform independent quality control analysis, including reference materials and proficiency samples, while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Coordinate sample disposal and equipment maintenance as needed. Assist coworkers on analytical questions and support other departments when appropriate. Perform root cause analysis for errors and implement corrective actions. Train new analysts as necessary and communicate available capacity to the Lab Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Geology or similar
- At least 1-3 Years Laboratory Experience
- Computer and software proficient
- Ability to multitask
- In order to perform analysis, candidate must be able to distinguish colors
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
- Tuesday - Saturday 1:00pm - 9:00pm
